I love to combine new and durable fabrics with recycled ones.

I sew myself, combining, for example, wool founded in a second-hand shop with cashmere bought in a fabric warehouse. Due to this many of the clothes I create are unique, single pieces.

I fish out materials from the remnants of clothing, small pieces of fabrics, I hunt for unusual valuables, sometimes it takes time before I decide to use it. Like a good wine that must mature to take on a bouquet, shape and shine again. Whenever  I go to the fabric warehouse I feel like I’m hunting. Madness appears in my eyes, goose bumps on my hands, it just completely cuts me off from any type of conversation with people, my brain turns on a creative gear like a sports car engine. I choose fabrics for ideas that are already sprouting in my head. This is a wonderful state, the beginning of  the creative phase…

Upcycling allows you to build, teach and use a dynamically developing industry, with respect and humility to what we have found, which is history and the foundation of something new. I like to think that thanks to this, the design and sewing process is a kind of mystery and creates an intimate relationship between the Recipient and SQUVA.
